AMA Digital Day

Good evening! It is Sunday night, X Factor is on TV (I don't think I really care about any of the final 5 although if I'm honest I think it's definitely time Lloyd left. Isn't it?) and I'm here tapping away a little blog entry.

This is preparation for my presentation to the Arts Marketing Association's Digital Marketing Day tomorrow afternoon. I'm pretty excited as this is my first big London gig at Sadler's Wells no less. Anyway, if you're reading this on Monday after I've spoken, I hope it was useful!

So, here are the videos I'm going to need for the presentation, plus a few more bits and pieces that you might find useful.

And a couple more videos for you:

EDIT: Wed 2 December

CJ from PCM Creative qik'd my presentation, which you can view here if you have a spare 43mins. Always slightly cringy to watch yourself back, so I won't be viewing it in too much detail although was pleased with how it all went on Monday!

Shift Happened

On Tuesday, I was honoured to speak at the Shift Happens conference in York. It was great to meet so many people who are interested in what we're up to, thank you for being such an appreciative audience!

For those that weren't there, I cheated a little and presented a video that edits together all the video diaries I've made since February, which have been posted here individually before.

This was actually my second "conference cheat" where I don't actually speak live but play in my presentation by video (following my AmbITion presentation back in April). This time however I did actually go to the conference venue in York, thanks to my lovely hosts at Pilot Theatre.

If you're reading this having seen me at the conference, you can see the full diaries by clicking this link, which will bring up all the archived videos plus a bonus video of my Ambition talk! And if you want to ask any questions, please feel free to drop me an email.

For those of you who didn't make it along to the conference or would prefer to watch the edited version (!), I'm hoping that it'll find a home somewhere on the web in the not too distant future. Follow us on Twitter and I'll spread news about it's appearance through that channel.

Any, the real point of this blog was to admit that I never got round to posting the final video I made a few weeks ago, so here it is in all it's glory to complete the set:

As I've quite enjoyed this process of documenting our journey with the website and various social media tools, I think I may well create a few more to finish off the story as we go into the Edinburgh Fringe... please click back in a few months to see what we've been up to!

Finally, if you ever need a hotel in York, I'd thoroughly recommend the Dean Court Hotel. It was fab and had a brilliant view of the Minster!

A talk with AmbITion

Today I'm talking at an AmbITion event in Manchester. And that's Manchester, UK not a similarly-named town here in Tasmania. And yet, I don't actually start my journey back to England until tomorrow!

How am I doing it? I'm doing the presentation via a YouTube video! All this means I don't need to get nervous as it's all pre-prepared and all they have to do back in the UK is hit play! This is definitely the kind of presentation I could get used to!

If you're at the event in Manchester, I hope you're having a fantastic day and sorry I can't be with you. If watching the video raises any further questions that I don't appear to answer, feel free to email me and I'll do my best to help out.

The video follows our journey from Launceston in the north of Tasmania, back down to Hobart here in the south. If you find what I'm saying at all boring, feel free to turn the sound off and just watch the stunning scenery in the background!

Enjoy!
